Marist Harewood Junior Cricket
Why we should receive the grant:
I am applying on behalf of the Junior Committee from Marist Harewood Cricket Club to raise some funds to establish some grass pitch practice facilities for our juniors. They would be situated directly behind our club rooms at Redwood Park and would greatly benefit the 164 children that are registered in our junior section. We currently have two artificial practice nets which we share with the senior club and the rest of the local community so there is a real need for some more facilities for our juniors. We believe that two or three grass practice pitches would be sufficient to provide more options for our 18 junior teams. We have already sourced the metal nets for the sides and top and plan to pour a concrete strip/path behind the club rooms then fix the nets in place and have them hinged so they can be swung out of the way to enable enough room for our Kiwi grade (5 & 6 year old's) to take place on Saturday mornings still. We believe we would require $1500 to concrete the path area, dig up the old grass and relay with new soil and grass for the new practice pitches. Our club groundsmen would then maintain the pitches moving forward. Any funds received would be greatly appreciated in helping provide permanent practice facilities for developing the skills of our junior cricketers.
Kind regards
